Gluten-Free Drugs

Sounds a little nefarious, doesn’t it? Pssst!  Gluten-free drugs…

No, this post isn’t about anything illegal.  I promise.

You see, I have a cold.  A mild little summer cold, but definitely a cold.

When I’m sick, especially with something so minor, my treatment of choice is a large dose of hot liquid, followed by copious amounts of rest.

But what about for those times that tea and a nap just won’t cut it?

If you need to take over-the-counter or prescription meds of any sort, be sure to check them out on first.  It’s just about the best source out there to find out what is safe and what is not.  Don’t expect either your doctor or your pharmacist to have any clue about the ingredients in your meds.  I’ve had lots of experience with this – any time I ask, I’m met with a blank stare, usually followed by, “Medications can contain gluten?  I had no idea.”

Remember also that manufacturers change ingredients all the time, so be sure to do your due diligence.  Start with Gluten Free Drugs, then follow up with a quick web search. Your health is your own responsibility.
