First it was Rice Chex. Gluten-free for almost a year now. Yay!
Now, as of June 1, Corn Chex, Cinnamon Chex, Strawberry Chex, and Honey Nut Chex will be gluten-free.
Wow. That’s a lot of gluten-free…
See Triumph Gluten Free and Sure Foods Living for details. Thanks to both sources for the info!
Opinionated disclaimer: I have talked to a few people who say they have had a gluten reaction to Rice Chex. I have talked to many people who eat them without problems. I don’t eat them in quantity because of the Vitamin E (which I tend to react to in any way, shape or form). But David buys them occasionally, and I have nibbled a few squares out of several different boxes. I personally have never once had a gluten reaction to Rice Chex, though I’m not saying it can’t happen.
That doesn’t mean you should eat them if you don’t feel comfortable. All I’m saying is, make your own decision. If you try them and they don’t bother you, be happy! If you try them and they do bother you, stop eating them! If you decide not to try them, that’s your decision, and I respect it. But I don’t want to see any comments saying that no one should eat them because you don’t think they are safe. I’m just saying.
