David: Honey?

Li: Yes?

David: We weren’t going to exchange gifts this year for Valentine’s Day, were we?

Li: (worried) I wasn’t planning on it…were you?

David: (relieved) No. I was thinking we would have a nice dinner at home.

Li: (also relieved) That sounds like a great idea.

David: Do you have any ideas for the menu?

Li: Well, I was kind of thinking about steak…

David: (eyes lighting up) Oooh, steak, that sounds GREAT!

Li: Okay, steak it is!

We have pretty much this same conversation every year. The only thing that really changes is the food. This year, the menu for the evening is organic rib eye steaks (a splurge, but they were also on sale), baked sweet potatoes, some sort of dessert (to be named later), and a bottle of prosecco that David got me for my birthday, and has been dying to open ever since.

Does anyone have a sweet Valentine’s Day tradition they would like to share?

What, you don’t run around the grocery store with a stopwatch? LOL.

    Your dinner sounds delicious!
