Things that I enjoy about having Celiac Disease (really!)

I have become aware of what my body is telling me.

I have an exotic, cool-sounding disease: Non-Tropical Sprue.

My disease is manageable by diet alone – no drugs required.

I eat healthier than I ever have in my life, and get to feel self-righteous about it.

I never, ever, ever have to eat anything I don’t want to eat, ever again.

My cooking skills have greatly improved.

I can get sympathy any time I want, just by listing what I can’t eat.

I can splurge on good quality ingredients, since I’m not spending money on crappy, processed food.

I don’t have to “diet” anymore. When you can only eat a few foods, your body naturally maintains its proper weight!

Having celiac disease has taught me a lot about what is important in life. I no longer put up with a lot of BS. Life is just too precious to deal with other peoples’ crap. I can honestly say that this disease has GREATLY improved my quality of life.
